Every season, one more rung

We never planned to play every FIRST program. Each year a group of students outgrew the last one — and instead of leaving, they started the next team.

    FLL

    “Hello World”

    FLL team 1585 plays its rookie season. Scratch, a LEGO robot and the Core Values.

    FTCFLL

    Moving up to metal

    FTC team 24961 Wombat starts at Wollongong — one of the youngest teams at the event — while FLL carries on for the younger students.

  • 2024
    FLLFTC

    First award

    FLL team 2895 wins first place for Robot Design at regionals. Our FLL Journey blog passes 70,000 views. A second FTC team, 27574 Wallaby, is registered.

  • 2025
    FIRST GlobalFTC

    Team Australia in Panamá

    Five students represent Australia at the FIRST Global Challenge, after recording 100+ “FGC 101” videos for teams worldwide. In FTC, 24961 wins the Sustain Award at Sydney South and plays the Nationals.

    All four programs

    FLL · FTC · FRC · FIRST Global in one season

    FRC Team 11429 plays its rookie season at the Southern Cross Regional (March 2026). In May our FLL team competes at the World Championship in Houston, and two FTC teams finish top 16 in their divisions at the Asia-Pacific Open in Sydney.

    Now

    Five FTC teams, both FLL editions, FRC again

    FTC grows to five Sydney teams for BIOBUZZ. FLL BIOGLOW is played in both the Founders and the new Future Edition. Team 11429 is registered for the 2027 Southern Cross Regional.

What stays the same

The same mentors and the same rule: veterans teach the next group. Every program uses the same Core Values.

What changes

The robots get bigger, the code gets harder, and the students take on more of the running of the team — outreach and sponsors included.
